Discover the Story Behind Core-Oli-T AB’s Development
The story of Core-Oli-T AB began at Linnaeus University in Kalmar, Sweden, where researchers Björn Karlsson and Thomas Näsström discovered a shared vision — to change how neurodegenerative diseases are detected and treated. Björn, with a background in sensor development and materials chemistry, and Thomas, an expert in geriatrics and neurodegenerative disease research, joined forces in 2017 within the Laboratory for Physical Pharmacy. Their combined expertise bridged the gap between technology and medicine, sparking a collaboration that would evolve into something greater.
Driven by the growing global impact of Parkinson’s disease, they set out to develop new diagnostic tools capable of detecting the disease long before traditional methods could. The goal was simple yet ambitious: to give physicians the means to act earlier — and give patients a better chance at preserving their quality of life.
In 2025, this vision became reality with the founding of Core-Oli-T AB. Today, the company continues to build on its academic roots, transforming scientific research into practical diagnostic solutions designed to make a global difference in the fight against neurodegenerative diseases.
